Tragic! Minor boy meets watery grave on Kartika Purnima

Keonjhar: In a tragic incident, a minor boy drowned while taking bath in a river on the auspicious occasion of Kartika Purnima here this morning.

The deceased was identified as Subham Rout, the only son of Chittaranjan Rout of Nuagarh village under Ghashipura police limits in Keonjhar district.

According to reports, Subham had gone with his family members in wee hours for holy dip and sailing miniature boat in the Kushei river in Anandapur on Kartika Purnima.

While taking bath at Khetrapal Ghat of the Kushei River, his legs slipped and he was swept away in the river. After a long hour of the search operation, the locals and fire service officials rescued the boy. They rushed him to the Sub-divisional Hospital, Anandapur, where the doctors declared him dead.
