Tragic! Three from family among five die of electrocution in Jagatsinghpur

Jagatsinghpur: In separate incidents, a total of five people died of electrocution in Jagatsinghpur district today. Of them three were from a family in Kujang block of the district.

Today evening, while one Pintu Swain from Banito village was fixing an electrical problem at his thatched house, he suffered shock. The villager’s wife and eight-year-old daughter ran to his rescue and suffered electric shock. The three persons died on the spot.

Hearing their cries for help, a neighbour came to the family’s rescue. But he also suffered electric shock and has been critically injured.

In Choramara village under Khairanga panchayat, one Tusar Sahu died of electrocution. He suffered the shock from an inverter at his house. He was scheduled to marry in December.

A pall of gloom has descended on the Choramara village following the tragic incident.

Another villager from Mahira village under Jagatsinghpur police limits died due to electric shock. The deceased, identified as Abhaya Kumar Swain from the village came in contact with a live wire put up to drive away monkeys. He suffered the sock and died on the spot.
