Tragic! Two Class 5 students drown in Odisha

Rayagada: In yet another drowning incident, two Class-V students met a watery grave while taking bath in a river at Puska village under Seshakhala police limits in Rayagada district yesterday. The bodies were fished out from the water body this morning.

The deceased have been identified as Panchu Nimaka and Nimai Nimaka, both aged 12 years.

Sources said the two had gone to Nagabali river to take bath after playing last evening. However, the duo fell into deep water and swept away by strong water current. When the two did not return their houses late in the evening, their family members lodged a missing complaint at Seshakhala police station.

Today morning, locals spotted the two children floating in the river and informed their family members, who later recovered the bodies. On receiving information, police reached the spot and sent the bodies for post-mortem.

On Wednesday, a four-year-old boy drowned to death at Khardhapatna village under Tihidi police limits in Bhadrak district.
