Tragic: Two 3-year-old kids charred to death in Odisha

Keonjhar: Tragedy struck a family at Mundasahi village under Nayakot police limits in Keonjhar district after two three-year-old boys, who were cousins, were charred to death in a fire mishap in the locality today.

Sources said the two kids while playing outside their house set fire to a heap of paddy straw and later entered into a pigsty in fear of the fire. The fire later spread and quickly engulfed the entire pigsty. The two kids identified as Rahul Munda and Sagar Munda were charred in the fire.

Hearing their scream, locals rescued the two and admitted them to Keonjhar district headquarters hospital (DHH), where doctors declared them dead. The incident took place when parents of the two had gone to their farmland in the morning.

Though the exact cause behind the fire mishap is yet to be ascertained, police reached the spot and began an investigation.
