Trailer of Odisha’s Debamitra Biswal directed Bollywood movie goes insanely viral
Bhubaneswar: A month ahead of the pan-India release of Odisha-born director Debamitra Biswal Hasan’s debut film ‘Motichoor Chaknachoor’, the trailer of the movie has created a lot of buzz as it has gone viral on online platform.
The 2 minutes 21 seconds trailer released on YouTube yesterday has already amassed over 60 lakh views by the time of filing this story and it promises to be a good watch. The overwhelming response has come in less than a day’s time.
The romcom featuring Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Athiya Shetty is all set to hit the silver screens on November 15.
In the movie, Nawazuddin, approaching 40, desperately wants to get married while Athiya, whose only aspiration is to get married to an NRI. Nawazuddin and Athiya get hooked and the laugh riot begins.
Debamitra hailing from Bhubaneswar is the writer-director of the movie. The movie has been produced by Woodpecker Movies Pvt Ltd in association with Viacom18 Studios.

The 40-year-old woman director struggled for over 15 years to realize her dreams. She started her career from television as an assistant director with Balaji Telefilms Ltd. She also worked as creative director in ‘Radhaa Ki Betiyaan Kuch Kar Dikhayengi’ and ‘Lapataganj’ before moving on to her dream job as a script writer.
She had approached many producers with the script. Finally, she got the much-needed break in the industry last year after Rajesh Bhatia and Kiran Bhatia entered into an agreement with her. She had bagged three movies from the banner.
However, the movie had recently hit legal hurdles as the the director had filed a commercial arbitration petition before the Bombay High Court.
The petitioner alleged that she was not paid her dues as per the agreement with the Woodpecker Movies Pvt Ltd.
Following this, the court had stayed the release of its trailer on October 10. However, a lawyer representing the producers appeared before the court on October 9 and informed the court that due credit to Biswal has been paid for her services.
