Puri: Front and rear engines of a train derailed near Chandanpur in Odisha's Puri district last evening. Fortunately, a major mishap got averted as the train was passenger-less.

The derailment took place when the train was heading towards Khurda Road Junction. The engines were carrying damaged coaches, reports said.

On being informed about the incident, a technical team of the Railways reached the spot and completed the restoration work late last night. The derailed engines and coaches have been detached and sent to different places.
