Train hits Railway Signal Engineer as his leg gets stuck in track in Odisha’s Nuapada

Nuapada: In a tragic incident, a Railway Signal Engineer died as a train hit him while his leg got stuck in track in Odisha’s Nuapada district, last night.

The deceased was identified as Anup Ray (28) of Balangir.

According to reports, Anup had come to Nuapada Railway Station from Lakhna Railway Station to repair technical issue in the signal system. After finishing the work, he returned to Lakhna in a freight train.

While walking towards the staff quarters, his leg got stuck in the track while he was crossing it. Later, a moving train hit Anup, killing him on the spot.

The Government Railway Police (GRP) recovered the body for post-mortem and initiated an investigation into the matter.
