Jharsuguda: A five-year-old boy and a 45-year-old woman died after being run over by an express train near Belpahar railway station in Odisha's Jharsuguda district today.
The mishap took place this morning while some members of a family hailing from Brajrajnagar were on their way to a function in Nuapada.
The child went towards the railway track being unaware of the danger as Howrah-Ahmedabad Express train was approaching towards him.
In a bid to save the boy, Debi Munda, the deceased woman, rushed towards the track. Unfortunately, both of them were mowed down by the train.
