Training launch of Agni-1 missile off Odisha coast successful

Bhubaneswar: India successfully carried out the training launch of short-range ballistic missile ‘Agni-1’ off Odisha coast today.

“Training launch of short-range ballistic missile Agni-1 carried out successfully from APJ Abdul Kalam Island off Odisha coast on December 7,” said a statement issue by the Defence Ministry.

The user training launch, carried out under the aegis of under the strategic forces command, successfully validated all operational and technical parameters, it added.

Agni-1 missile has a range of around 2,000 km and it can carry up to 1,000 kg of nuclear warheads, sources said.
