Jharsuguda: Tension ran high on the premises of the Jharsuguda District Headquarters Hospital on Tuesday as a woman was allegedly being treated at the government-run healthcare facility even after her death.
The daughter of the deceased alleged that the hospital authorities were doing so in order to suppress the matter of the patient's death due to 'medical negligence'.
According to reports, one Arati Ghosh (52) of Brajarajnagar area was admitted to the hospital on Friday due to blood-related ailment. Yesterday, the woman's blood test was conducted while her family members were not apprised about the report.
Arati's daughter Susmita alleged that a nurse administered her an injection in the afternoon, following which the patient's condition deteriorated.
She further alleged that though the woman was to be administered intravenous fluid at 7 pm, it was done at 10 pm after her kin complained about the issue.
Though a doctor declared the woman dead at around 10 pm and the same was mentioned in a report, an oxygen mask was put on her till 11.30 pm, alleged Susmita.
The hospital authorities were yet to comment on the matter.
