‘Tree top house’ to woo tourists in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: In a bid to boost eco tourism, Odisha government has taken initiative to make tourists’ trip more adventurous by building tree top houses in the forest.

Such initiative has been made for the first time at Kaliamba in Ghumusar-North Division of Bhanjanagar to attract the tourists visiting the destination.

The two-room wooden house has been built on a banyan tree facilitating the tourists to enjoy the darkness in the dense forest with wildlife at cost of only Rs 3,500 per night (excluding tax fee).

The tourists can book the room through eco-tour website for night halting in the tree house.

The initiative has been taken to connect the tourists with Nature and to boost Odisha tourism. The tree house has been built with all the arrangements including accommodation, lunch, dinner, sleeping as well as safety for the tourists, said DFO Ramswamy of Ghumusar-North Division in Bhanjanagar.

Besides, the tourists will be provided medical facility and boating. They can also ride the cycle inside the forest, he said.

The forest and environment department has built a park, a timber house, one timber cottage and three AC tent houses near Bhanjanagar dam situated in the area. The tourists can enjoy the night with burning campfire near dam surrounded by hills. The facilities including cycling, trekking, boating, fishing and bird watching are available for the tourists.
