Tribal man from Odisha shoots nephew with arrow over property dispute

Property dispute turned bloody as a man was fatally injured after he was shot at with bow and arrow in Odisha’s tribal-dominated Malkangiri district today.

According to reports, a tribal family was at odds over property dispute since quite some time. However, the clash turned ugly this morning as Era Madkami, uncle of Muka Madkami, attacked the latter with bow and arrow fatally injuring him.

While one arrow pierced his abdomen from left, the other brushed his body resulting in minor injury.

The incident took place at Tentuliguda village under Malkangiri police limits.

The grievously injured Muka was rushed to District Headquarters Hospital where he is undergoing treatment. The arrow was yet to be removed.

The patient will be operated upon to remove the foreign object. Medical investigations and X-Ray have been conducted on him. The extent of injury to internal organs could be known after surgery, a source said.

Meanwhile, the accused uncle is absconding after the incident.

Local police are investigating into the incident. A manhunt has been launched to nab the accused.
