Tricolour hoisted upside down on I-day in Odisha, police complaint filed

Basudevpur: A police complaint was filed in Bhadrak district alleging that disrespect was shown to the National Flag during the 74th Independence Day celebration on Saturday. The complaint stated the Tricolour was hoisted upside down at the Arandaa panchayat office in Basudevpur area of the district.

One Muktikanta Naik of Arandaa village alleged in his complaint local sarpanch Arun Kumar Mohanty hoisted the flag upside down during I-day celebration.

Besides, the COVID-19 guidelines were not followed during the celebration. Many attendees did not wear masks and maintain social distance while participating in the I-day celebration, the complainant stated.

Based on the complaint, the police registered a case and are investigating the matter.
