Tricolour to fly high atop Odisha’s tallest flagpole in Rourkela

Rourkela: Steel city Rourkela is set to get Odisha’s tallest tricolour at the height of around 230 feet. The tallest flagpole is being installed by the Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) to make a mark by flying tricolour.

The National Flag will fly high atop the tallest flagpole measuring 70 metre (around 230 feet) at sector-6 area in Rourkela.

Though the pole has been installed, the RSP has not announced the exact date for its inauguration as ancillary work around the pole is yet to be completed. However, the flagpole is expected to be inaugurated on the Republic Day this year, informed a senior official.

It is pertinent to mention that the 215-ft-tall flagpole on premises of the High Court of Orissa in Cuttack is considered to be the tallest pillar in Odisha followed by the 204-foot-tall flag pillar erected by Naveen Jindal’s Flag Foundation of India in Angul.
