Truck crushes woman, daughter to death in Odisha’s Ganjam

Aska: In a tragic incident, a woman and her daughter died after a truck ran over them on Aska-Kabisuryanagar road near Mukundapur Chhak in Odisha’s Ganjam district today.

According to reports, one G Sarkil Reddy (45), his wife G Kuntala Reddy (40) and their 12-year-old daughter Nikita were travelling on a scooter to Aska.

In the meantime, a speeding truck hit the two-wheeler from rear following which the trio fell on the road. The truck ran over the mother-daughter duo killing the minor girl on the spot and critically injuring the woman.

She was rushed to the Aska Community Health Centre, where doctor declared her brought dead.

Tension gripped the accident spot following the death of the two as irate locals gathered at the place. On being informed, police reached the spot and tried to pacify them.
