Truck mows down 2 NTPC employees in Odisha’s Sundargarh

Sundargarh: In a tragic incident, two NTPC employees died as a truck ran over them at Balijori Chhak under Sadar police limits in Odisha’s Sundargarh district, today.

The deceased have been identified as Sasmita Kabiraj and Suryakant. While the young woman was working at NTPC Super Thermal Power Station in Darlipali, Suryakant was a staffer of NTPC Coal Mine in Dulanga.

Both were travelling on a scooter around 10 am when a truck and the two-wheeler collided head-on. The two fell down under the impact of the collision, following which the heavy vehicle ran over them killing the duo on the spot.

Police have recovered the bodies and sent those for post-mortem. While the truck has been seized by cops, the driver absconded after the road mishap.
