Truck mows down RTO staffer during vehicle checking in Odisha’s Keonjhar
Keonjhar: A truck ran over a staffer of Keonjhar Regional Transport Office (RTO) killing him on the spot on NH-20 near Puruna Bazar bypass in Odisha’s Keonjhar district, today.
The deceased has been identified as Bijay Kumar Mahanta. He was working as a driver with the RTO.

According to reports, checking of vehicles by MVI and RTO officials was underway near the bypass this morning, during which Mahanta tried to intercept a truck. However, the vehicle didn’t stop and ran over Mahanta killing him on the spot.
The driver of the truck fled the spot with the vehicle after the incident. Police have started investigation into the incident and efforts were on to trace the truck and its driver.
