Truck owner murdered over ‘business rivalry’ in Odisha

Keonjhar: Unidentified miscreants allegedly killed a truck owner at Brahmanipal in Anandapur of Keonjhar district today.

The deceased identified as Niranjan Sahu (35) was staying at his in-laws’ house at Jardapala under Kiajhar Gram Panchayat in the district.

Sources said the miscreants asked him to come outside and later killed him by slitting his throat with a sharp weapon. Though the exact reason behind the murder is yet to be ascertained, business rivalry is suspected have led to the incident. Later, police reached the spot and began an investigation into the incident.

Meanwhile, angry over the incident, locals staged a road blockade at Brahmanipal disrupting vehicular movements in the locality. They demanded immediate arrest of the culprits.
