Bargarh: A truck ran over three girl students of Larambha College at Kadabahal Chhak in Odisha's Bargarh district, today.

The trio sustained critical injuries in the accident and was undergoing treatment at VIMSAR in Burla.

According to reports, the victims were heading towards the educational institution on their bicycles in the morning, during which a truck approaching from opposite direction hit the girls and ran over them.

The driver of the vehicle lost control over the wheels, as a result of which it overturned at the spot.

Police and locals rescued the girls in a critical condition and rushed the victims to a nearby hospital. The three were later shifted to VIMSAR as their condition deteriorated.

Police have seized the vehicle and started an investigation into the incident.
