Tuition teacher arrested for impregnating Class V girl student in Odisha’s Jagatsinghpur

Kujang: A man was arrested today for allegedly impregnating a minor girl whom the accused had been tutoring. This was reported from Balitutha village under Kujang police limits in Jagatsinghpur.

The victim is a student of Class V at an upper primary (UP) school in Balitutha of the district.

According to a police source, the minor victim was going to the tutor, who resides in the same village. When the teacher was not being available, the girl was being taught at home by her father.

On Monday, the victim all of a sudden complained of stomach pain. The girl’s father later took her to a nearby health facility for a detailed checkup, where it was ascertained that she was pregnant.

After being thoroughly questioned, the minor expressed that the tutor had earlier established a physical relationship with her against her will. She narrated her plight before her parents. The accused teacher had warned the Class V student not to reveal this to anybody, she stated.

Father of the girl lodged an FIR with Kujang police, acting on which, a team arrested the accused.

A medical examination of the girl student was done in a local hospital earlier in the day.
