Tusker electrocuted to death in Odisha’s Dhenkanal!

Dhenkanal: A tusker was found dead at a farmland in Rankia village under Bhuban Forest Range in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district, today.

Though the reason behind the death of the elephant was yet to be ascertained, it is being suspected that the animal was electrocuted to death.

The villagers spotted the carcass this morning and informed the Forest department.

The age of the elephant is estimated to be around 40 years. The reason of the death can be known after an autopsy, a Forest official said.

The pachyderm had come to the farmland last night to consume paddy and might have come in contact with the live wire of the electric pole installed at the spot, reports said.
