Twin City Police Commissioner warns violators of night curfew of strict action

Bhubaneswar: When there has been no considerable fall in Covid-19 cases in the twin city of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, Police Commissioner Saumendra Kumar Priyadarshi today cautioned people not obeying the night curfew regulations with strict action from October 11.

If anyone does not follow the night curfew rules in the twin city, the concerned person will face stringent action, said the Priyadarshi, adding that the violators could be arrested as well.

In view of the festive season, the State government has announced that night curfew in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack will come into force from 8 PM to 5 AM from October 11 to 20.

The Police Commissioner said tight vigil will be kept on persons with criminal antecedents. Those who get involved in extortion in the twin city will also face strict action, he added.

He appealed the denizens to follow Covid appropriate behavior during the Durga Puja.

The State government has announced night curfew in urban local bodies from 10 PM to 5 AM. However, the night curfew timing has been revised for the twin city from October 11 to 20.

Today, a total of 216 positive cases were found in the Odisha Capital whereas 45 people in the Cuttack city tested positive for the Covid disease.
