Two areas in Odisha’s Rourkela declared micro containment zones

Rourkela: Following detection of several COVID-19 positive cases, the Rourkela Municipal Corporation (RMC)  today declared two areas in Sector 1 and Sector 20 as micro containment zones.

The areas are: H-Block quarter number  313 to 340  and quarter number 353 to 380 of Sector-1 and B-Block quarter number 123 to 130 and  quarter number  133 to 140.

Measures will be taken for active contract tracing and to contain spreading of the deadly virus, said RMC Commissioner Dibyajyoti Parida.

Here’re the guidelines: 
  • All vehicular movements, both  public transport and personal movement, will be stopped.
  • All the inhabitants within the containment zone will be strictly asked to remain indoors. All the shopping establishments will remain closed with immediate effect. Supply of essentials and medical requirements will be ensured through various teams formed by Town Services Department, Rourkela Steel Plant, SAIL-Rourkela.
  • All Govt and Private institutions within the boundary of the containment zone will be closed forthwith.
  • Essential Services will be ensured through Town Service administration of RSP-SAIL.

The containment order will remain in force till further orders, said the RMC.

It is pertinent  to mention here that Sundargarh district today reported 523 positive cases, second highest in the state after Khordha (534).
