Two arrested for raping mentally challenged woman in Odisha

Keonjhar, May 9:

Odisha police today arrested two persons in connection with gang rape of a 28-year-old mentally challenged woman on Saturday night in Keonjhar district.

The arrested have been identified as Petu Nayak and Padu Nayak of Chakundapal village under Turumunga police limits in the district.

The victim’s family yesterday had filed a complaint with Turumunga police in this regard after the victim narrated the ordeal on Sunday.

According to the complaint, two persons identified as Petu Nayak and Padu Nayak hailing from the victim’s village, Chakundapal, abducted her on Saturday night while she was returning back home after watching a religious programme. She was raped by the duo taking turns.

Paperwork was on to forward the duo to court, informed a police official.
