Two BMC engineers test COVID-19 positive in Odisha capital

Bhubaneswar: Two engineers of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) have tested positive for COVID-19, informed BMC Commissioner Prem Chandra Chaudhary today.

The infected persons duo has a travel history to other district. After returning to Bhubaneswar, they were found positive for COVID-19.

“Two BMC staff had toured to an other district during leave. After they traveled back to Bhubaneswar, the duo underwent COVID test and the result came out positive. We have put all their contacts under quarantine. The section, where they were working, has been closed,” said Chaudhary.

The two persons are in rank of engineers in BMC. While one is posted as the Executive Engineer, another is the Junior Engineer (JE).

Along with the duo, one more person identified as a driver has also tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

However, the driver is not an employee of BMC, Chaudhary said.
