Berhampur: In a tragic incident, at least two Bol Bam devotees were killed and 13 others sustained injuries as a car hit them near Bhetanai under Aska police limits in Odisha's Ganjam district, late last night.

The deceased were identified as Anita Swain (35) and Mukuna Behera (32). While Anita died on the spot, Mukuna succumbed to injuries at the MKCG Medical College and Hospital here. The injured ones were undergoing treatment at the hospital. All of them hail from Arakhapur village under Buguda block of the district.

According to reports, the mishap took place when the group of Kanwariyas was heading towards Tadakeswar Temple in the village carrying holy water from Rushikulya river in Aska.

The victims were rescued by locals and rushed to the Aska Sub-divisional Hospital. They were later shifted to the MKCG Medical College and Hospital for better treatment.

Police have seized the vehicle and started an investigation into the incident.
