Two brothers murdered over land dispute in Odisha’s Angul

Angul: A land dispute at Hariberani village in Odisha’s Angul district turned fatal as it claimed lives of two brothers.

The deceased have been identified as Dushasan Senapati (45) and his younger brother Dushmant Senapati (38).

According to reports, Dushasan was having tea at a shop located on NH-55 roadside near the village yesterday evening when a heated exchange of words erupted between him and his neighbour over the land dispute.

Dushasan sustained critical injuries after being attacked by his neighbour with a sharp weapon. His younger brother Dushmant rushed to the spot for rescue. The attacker took out a gun and fired at the brother duo besides hacking the two.

While Dushmant died on the spot, Dushasan was admitted to the Angul District Headquarters Hospital for treatment. He was later shifted to the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack, where he succumbed to his injuries today.
