Two ‘corrupt’ Odisha Administrative Service officials dismissed

Bhubaneswar: The Revenue department today sacked two Odisha Administrative Service (OAS) officials from service on charges of their involvement in corruption cases. Former Loisingha Tehsildar Bijayani Biswal and former BDO of Komna block Pradeep Kumar Behera were the two OAS officers who faced action today.

Worth mentioning, vigilance cases were registered against Bijayani and Pradeep in Sambalpur and Koraput, respectively.

Also, the department has decided to withhold pension benefits of nine government staff including three retired officers for their alleged involvement in corruption. Earlier, the State government had given compulsory premature retirement DFO Sudhansu Mishra and engineers at Works department Pranakrushna Prasad and Umesh Chandra Tripathy.

On October 2, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had launched the ‘Mo Sarkar’ programme with an aim to popularize his government and keep corruption away. He told officials that corruption will not be tolerated in any case.
