Two COVID-19 patients flee hospital in Odisha

Berhampur: Two patients undergoing treatment at TATA COVID Hospital at Sitalapali in Ganjam district escaped from the hospital on Saturday.

After finding the two patients missing, hospital authorities lodged a police complaint yesterday morning. However, they are yet to be traced.

On July 3, Excise Intelligence officials nabbed the two from Berhampur New Bus Stand here while they were smuggling ganja and later sent them to jail. In the ail, their swab samples were collected for COVID-19 test. After their reports came positive, they were shifted to the COVID hospital on July 10.

Two days after being admitted to the hospital, the duo fled the hospital on July 12. They are residents of Bhubaneswar, said sources.
