Two die of asphyxia inside septic tank in Odisha’s Jagatsinghpur

Jagatsinghpur: In a tragic incident, two labourers died of asphyxiation inside an under-construction septic tank at Sujang village under Sadar police limits in Odisha’s Jagatsinghpur district, today.

The deceased have been identified as Raju Bhoi of Sujang and Prakash Barik of Mandasahi.

According to reports, the duo had entered inside the septic tank of one Balaram Pati in the village. Moments later, they stopped responding to those who were present outside the tank and supervising the work.

Both were spotted lying unconscious inside the tank, following which they were rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital, where doctor declared them dead.

The bodies have been sent for post-mortem while police have started investigation into the matter.
