Two die, 3 critical in wall collapse following heavy rain in Odisha

Kendrapara/ Balasore: Two persons were killed while three others, including a minor girl suffered injuries in wall collapse due to heavy rain at separate places in Kendrapara and Balasore districts last night.

Reportedly,  an 82-year-old man died while his wife suffered injuries after a major portion of the wall of their thatched house at Ganeswarpur village under Aul police limits in Kendrapara district in collapsed when they were sleeping late last night. While one Kailash was crushed to death under debris, his wife Malati was critically injured. She was later rushed to a hospital for treatment.

In a separate incident, a man died while his wife and four-year-old daughter sustained grievous injuries in wall collapse at Bhadua village under Raibania police limits in Balasore district last night. The injured have been admitted to Hatigarh Community Health Centre (CHC).

On Wednesday night, a person was killed while his wife and son-in-law suffered critical injuries in wall collapse at Karumunda in Keonjhar district. Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) PK Jena confirmed this yesterday.
