Two engineers on compulsory retirement for corruption in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Taking stringent action against corrupt officials, Odisha government has ordered compulsory retirement of two engineers from their service.

Prana Krushna Prasad, Executive Engineer at Angul Rural Works Quality Control Division; and Umesh Chandra Tripathy, Deputy Executive Engineer presently working in Tusra (R&B) sub-division-1 Sonepur under Works Department were compulsorily retired after they were found to be involved in corrupt practices.

According to reports, Prana Krushna was under Vigilance net twice. He was caught taking bribe first in 2015 and second time in 2018.

He was stated to be one of the inefficient and corrupt officer in Rural Works Department.

Similarly, Tripathy was involved in four Vigilance cases during his service in Koraput. He was accused of showing undue official favour to the contractor and misappropriation of government money by recording inflated measurements.

Earlier in the day, a Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) was given compulsory retirement for corruption.
