Two held for ransacking Nandankanan Deputy Director’s office

Bhubaneswar: The Twin City Commissionerate Police arrested two men for allegedly ransacking the office of Deputy Director, Nandankanan Zoological Park here.

The accused were identified as Khoba Pahad Singh and Govinda Sahoo of Daruthenga village. The two were apprehended from a forest as the duo was hiding there after committing the offence.

Several cases are pending against Khoba at various police stations in the capital city.

As per reports, the two stormed into the office on Monday evening with billhooks and knives. They abused and assaulted Dr. Rajesh Mahapatra, Biologist, Dr. Sudipta Kumar Panda, ACF (SBG), Dr. Rashmi Ranjan Swain, ACF (SM), and Ashuthosh Campa, Audit Officer of F&E Department.

The two also destroyed numerous assets including computers, laptops, printers, TV, and furniture.

An FIR in this regard was filed at the Nandankanan Police station, on the basis of which an investigation was conducted and the accused were arrested.
