Two junior school teachers sacked for remaining absent from duty

Bhadrak: District Education Officer (DEO), Bhadrak Kapilendra Mishra sacked two junior school teachers today for remaining absent from duty without adequate authorisation, acting on a directive of Collector Siddeshwar Baliram Bondar.

Sukuram Singh, a junior teacher at Thokara primary school under Chandbali block in the district, had remained absent without notice from 2020 and was earlier served a show-cause. As Singh could not furnish any satisfactory answer, he was dismissed from his job.

Jhadakanta primary school junior teacher Laxminarayan Kisku working under Chandbali block was fired for the same reason. Kisku was absent from his duty since 2019.

“After the matter came to the knowledge of Departmental higher-ups, the teachers were slapped show cause notices by the Education department. Such notices were served along with advertisements in newspapers. As none of the teachers turned up, they were terminated,” an official said.
