Three killed, 40 injured in bus-truck collision in Odisha’s Cuttack

Cuttack: A head-on collision between a bus and a truck killed at least three persons and left around 40 others injured on Cuttack-Chandbali road near Katarapada under Nischintakoili block of Odisha’s Cuttack district, today.

As per reports, the bus carrying the passengers was heading towards Cuttack from Chandbali, during which it collided head-on with a truck at around 7.30 am.

While three of the passengers died under the impact of the collision, others were injured in the road accident.

On being informed, Fire Services personnel rushed to the spot and launched an operation to rescue the passengers trapped in the damaged bus.

The injured were admitted to the Nischintakoili Hospital for treatment.

It is being suspected that poor visibility owing to foggy conditions led to the mishap.
