Two killed in elephant attacks in Odisha

Rourkela/Rairangpur, Nov 10:

At least two persons were killed in elephant attacks in Odisha today.

A woman identified as Fuduli Singh of Relaposh village under Kuanrmunda forest range in Sundargarh district was trampled to death by an elephant early in the morning today while she was sleeping in her hut.

Similarly, another person identified as Barisa Murmu of Bijatala village under Rairangpur forest division in Mayurbhanj was killed by a tusker while he had gone to attend nature’s call this morning.

Police and Forest department officials visited Relaposh village to investigate the woman’s death.

A herd comprising of about 50 elephants are rampaging the Rutupidi forested area under Kuanrmunda forest range for the last few days, reports said.
