Two killed, six critical after vehicle hits tree in Odisha’s Nayagarh

Nayagarh: In a tragic incident, two persons were killed and six were critical after a vehicle returning from wedding ceremony hit a roadside tree in Daspalla area in Nayagarh district this morning.

While one deceased has been identified as Priyaranjan Karm (27) of Sarsara village in Boudh district, the identity of another deceased is yet to be known.

The injured persons were rushed to community health centre from where they were shifted to Nayagarh Hospital for treatment after their condition deteriorated.

The accident took place at Sunagaja Chhak in Daspalla area at around 4.00 am.

According to reports, eight persons in the vehicle Mahindra Quanto had travelled from Raghunathpur area in Boudh district to Narasinghpur area in Cuttack district to attend a wedding ceremony. While returning from the event, the vehicle hit a roadside mango tree in Daspalla area following which two died on the spot and others were critically injured.
