Two killed, three injured in road mishap in Odisha’s Boudh

Kantamal: Two persons were killed and three others injured during a head-on collision between an Omni vehicle and motorcycle near Khatkhatia Metakani temple under Manamunda police limits in Boudh district today evening. One of the deceased was identified as Kishore Swain of Gopalamala village whereas identity of the other person is yet to be ascertained.

The Omni vehicle going towards Kantamal from Manamunda hit the motorcycle coming from opposite direction. Kishore who was driving the motorcycle died on the spot.

Four others injured in the accident were rushed to the Sonepur district headquarters hospital. While undergoing treatment at the hospital, one of the injured succumbed.

Alleging delay in arrival of the 108 ambulance, locals staged a blockade on the road affecting vehicular movement. Also, the agitators demanded adequate compensation for families of the deceased.

As per latest reports, police reached the spot and were pacifying the protesting locals.
