Two Maoists surrender to Odisha police

Two dreaded Maoists belonging to Chhotnagpur Zonal Committee have surrendered before the Additional Superintendent of Police, Banai range of Odisha Police yesterday.

The Maoists were identified as Ramsoy Munda alias Padia (22) and Aju Champia alias Manduru (25). Both belong to Kiriburu area under West Singhbhum district of Jharkhand.

Both were inducted to the Mao camp by Gunga Munda of Chhotnagpur Maoist Zonal Committee in 2011 and operated on the Odisha-Jharkhand border areas after completion of their training.

Aju and Ramsoy were involved in an incident of fire exchange between the police and Maoists at Langalkata under K Bolang police station in 2012, while Aju Champia was also involved in many incidents of violence in the Saranda forest of Odisha.

Both were frustrated with the Maoist ways and their activities and hence chose to surrender before police.
