Two minors among four injured in cracker explosion in Odisha’s Dhenkanal

Kamakhyanagar: At least four persons were injured, including three critically, when firecrackers exploded at a stall at Badasuanla village under Kamakhyanagar police limits in Dhenkanal district of Odisha today.

The injured have been identified as Dusmanta Nayak, his nine-year-old son Prateek Nayak, Jagabandhu Nayak and Anwesha Pal (11) of Badasuanla, sources said.

The four were buying crackers for Diwali celebration when the incident took place, villagers said.

Locals rescued the injured persons and rushed them to a local hospital. Later, three of them were shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack when their condition deteriorated.

“The firecrackers went off when at least 12 customers were present at the stall. Four of them sustained injuries in the mishap,” said a villager.
