Two Odisha cops suspended for alleged involvement in ganja smuggling

Jeypore: Koraput police today suspended two cops for their alleged involvement in a ganja smuggling incident in Padua police station area in the district.

The two suspended cops are Odisha Auxiliary Police Force (OAPF) Constable Biswanath Parija and Havildar Narendra Badanayak.

Yesterday, the Padua police had seized ganja worth Rs 25 lakh and arrested one Ashwini Mohanta of Rourkela in this connection. The two cops were allegedly involved in the incident.

In a similar seizure the same day, the Lamptaput police of the district had seized cannabis weighing 1036 kg worth around Rs 1 crore from a truck. However, the smugglers had managed to flee.
