Two pedestrians killed in road mishap in Odisha’s Koraput

Koraput: In an unfortunate incident, two pedestrians were killed in a road mishap while they were going to collect Re 1 rice from PDS store in Odisha’s Rayagada district today.

The deceased persons were identified as Bikash Miniaka of  Minapai village and his friend Sahu Perepaka.

The incident took place at Kutuli village where the duo was hit by an unidentified vehicle at around 12.00 pm.

According to reports, the duo was walking to Kutuli village to collect subsidised rice under food security scheme from a local PDS store. On the main road, an unidentified vehicle hit two pedestrians from behind and fled from the area. The duo died on the spot.

Following the incident, the irate locals staged road blockade on NH 326 demanding the police to nab the unidentified vehicle and driver.

On receiving information, the Kumbikota police reached the spot to pacify the crowd.
