Two students rescued, 1 missing in Paradip sea during Swachh Bharat drive

Paradip: In a tragic incident, two students were rescued while another drowned in Paradip sea near Light House here during a Swachh Bharat Abhiyan on Gandhi Jayanti today.

The trio, Class-IX students of Kendriya Vidyalaya, had come to the beach to take part in a Swachh Bharat Abhiyan organised by the Paradip Municipality today.

Sources said the three students after participating in the cleanliness drive were taking bath in the sea. They were swept away by strong water current while bathing. However, Subham Kulu and Sai Jyoti were rescued by firefighting team and local fishermen. They were later admitted to hospital for treatment.

Rescue operation was underway by CISF personnel to trace the other student till last reports came in.
