“As per allegation made by two students of the Psychology department pursuing their master degree in Utkal University, we have detained two TTEs for interrogation to ascertain the facts,” IIC of Bhubaneswar GRP Soubhagya Kumar Swain said.

As per the complaint filed by Subhendu Biswal, one of the attacked students, the TTE asked another  passenger travelling in the same compartment for a ticket. When the passenger failed to produce the ticket and pay penalty for the cause, the TTE asked him to hand over his mobile phone. On seeing this, the two students intervened in the matter, which led to a heated argumens with the TTE.

The reports said all of the sudden the TTE attacked the students in which Prabodh Mahapatra, a student, received injuries on his head.
