Rourkela: After four new cases of COVID-19 were reported from Nala Road here early  this morning taking the total count in Sundergarh district to 10, the administration came on its toes to contain spread of the deadly virus.

Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO) Saroj Mishra informed that two females aged 55 and 35 years and two males aged 38 and 27 years from Nala Road here have tested positive for coronavirus and their contact tracing is underway.

Earlier, Nala Road was declared containment zone and the surrounding areas as buffer zone after two persons from Gudagudazor and one from Nala Road tested COVID-19 positive on April 26.

After a shopkeeper of Nala Road containment zone was suspected t o have come in contact with another vendor in Sector-18 area, the  Rourkela Municipal Corporation (RMC) today sealed Sector-18 market.  All shops, including outlets selling non-veg items have been sealed.  This apart, 20 persons from Sector-18 have been kept under isolation.

Reportedly,  more than 3500 houses are located in the containment zone. While 83 teams have been engaged for health checkup, 20 teams are carrying out sanitization drive and 14 for supplying essential items to the houses. Besides, four platoons of police force have been deployment in the containment zone.

Worth mentioning, out of the  total 10 cases in Sundergarh district, three patients have been cured and discharged from hospital.
