Puri: A two-year-old boy reportedly died of snakebite at Astarang police station in Odisha's Puri district on Monday night.

As per reports, one Asha Behera from Balidia village had come to the police station to file a complaint against her in-laws due to ongoing disputes.

While Asha was busy filing her complaint, her son was playing within the police station premises. It was during this time that the toddler was bitten by a venomous snake.

The boy was immediately taken to Astarang Hospital and later shifted to Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar, where he was declared dead on arrival.

The toddler's death caused significant tension at the police station, leading the grieving parents to stage a protest in front of the police station, demanding compensation for their loss.
