Two years after marriage, man kills wife in Mayurbhanj

Baripada: Family feud led to a tragic end after a man allegedly killed his wife at Laxmanchhatra village under Gorumahishani police limits in Mayurbhanj district today.

The deceased has been identified as Chita Murmu, a native of Dumuria police station area in Jharkhand.

As per reports, accused Nagai Hembram had married Chita two years ago. This morning, he approached the village head to call up an ambulance to take her ailing wife to hospital. However, the village head along with other locals reached his house to find Chita’s body in a pool of blood.

Later, a village meeting on the incident was held,  where Nagai confessed to his crime. After that, the villagers lodged a written complaint against Nagai at Gorumahisani police station. The cops reached the spot and detained the accused for interogation.

Meanwhile, the SDPO along with a scientific team reached the site for an investigation.
