Two youths burnt alive as motorcycle catches fire at Kandarpur Toll Plaza in Odisha

Jagatsinghpur: In a tragic incident, two youths were burnt to death as the motorcycle on which they were travelling caught fire at Kandarpur Toll Plaza in Odisha’s Cuttack district, late last night.

The deceased were identified as Rajesh Das and Ishan Sahu of Rahama area in Jagatsinghpur district.

According to reports, the mishap took place at around 2 am when the two were heading towards Puri on the motorcycle. While a concrete mixer vehicle was stopped at the toll plaza for fees collection, the motorcycle hit the vehicle from rear.

The impact of the collision was so severe that the two-wheeler caught fire. Subsequently, the two youths sustained critical burn injuries.

While police rescued the two victims and rushed them to the SCB Medical College and Hospital, they were declared dead at the government healthcare facility.
