Ukraine claims to have shot down 5 Russian planes, 1 helicopter

New Delhi/Bhubaneswar: Five Russian planes and one helicopter were shot down by Ukrainian military in the Luhansk region on Thursday, latest media reports said.

Luhansk is one of the separatist regions in Ukraine that was recognised as independent by Russia earlier this week.

It is worth mentioning here that responding to Russia’s attack Ukrainian parliament today imposed Martial Law in the country.  Officials informed that hundreds of troops were likely to have been killed by now. The government also talked about ongoing cyber attacks  amidst the ongoing war between the two nations.

On the other hand, Russian military said that it has neutralized Ukraine’s air defense capabilities.

Russian President Vladimir Putin announced war against Ukraine making all the countries clear not to intervene. As the war situation worsens, reports of destruction of several airbases across Ukraine continue to come in.
