ULB Polls : Counting process to be videographed

To ensure transparency, the State Election Commission has decided to hold video recording of counting of votes a day after the conclusion of the Urban Local Body elections scheduled on September 19.

According to SEC secretary Dukhishyam Satpathy, video recording of the counting process would be held in all 66 counting centres on September 20.

“The respective collectors have also been authorized to undertake video recording of the voting process in booths including sensitive booths if required,” he said.

Satpathy also said that the SEC had already asked the all the 20 district collectors and Superintendents of Police to ensure law and order for safe, free and fair elections.
